Analyzing tile condition...
Based on visible conditions
We strictly use pre-mixed commercial quartz grout. It cures fully sealedβno return trips required to apply sealers.
Hardware store caulk yellows in days. We use pro-grade acetoxy silicone for crisp, watertight corners that never peel.
Old grout is mechanically extracted using diamond-blade oscillating tools with direct HEPA vacuuming. No silica mess.

About First Due Grouting
I'm Eden. I own and run First Due Grouting, and I work full time as a firefighter. For the past 5 years I've been restoring showers and tubs across Staten Island, NYC, and New Jersey on my days off.
In the fire service, the "first due" company is the one that's responsible for getting there first and handling the job right. I run this business the same way: you get a straight answer from the person who owns the company, a firm price before I arrive, and the job finished in a single visit.
FAQ
Shower regrouting runs $550β$950 and includes recaulking the perimeter. A floor or pan only is $550β$750, and the walls are $650β$950. Doing the walls, floor, and a deep clean together (Full Shower Renewal) is $1,150β$1,650. Text 2 photos to get an exact price.
A full perimeter re-caulk is $195β$345, depending on whether it's a tub or a walk-in shower, and takes 1.5β2 hours. Every visit has a $150 minimum.
Caulk is the flexible seal in the corners and where tile meets the tub, floor, or fixtures. If the mold or peeling is only in those seams, a re-caulk fixes it. If the grout lines between the tiles are cracked, crumbling, missing, or permanently stained, you need a regrout (which includes a re-caulk).
Yes. The old grout is ground out to at least 1/8" deep with diamond tools and HEPA vacuum extraction, then repacked with new quartz grout, all without removing tile. Loose ("drummy") tiles and rotted backer board or framing aren't covered and need a separate repair.
Wait 24 hours after any recaulking or regrouting before the shower or tub gets wet. The work itself is done in one visit: about 1.5β2 hours for a re-caulk, 3β4.5 hours for a regrout, and 5β6 hours for a full renewal.
Cleaning removes mold on the surface, but mold rooted inside old grout or behind silicone only goes away when that material is removed and replaced. That's why moldy seams need a re-caulk and moldy grout needs a regrout. A $65 Mold Shock Treatment can be added for walls, ceiling, and curb.
No. We use pre-mixed commercial quartz grout that cures stain-resistant on its own, so there's no return trip to apply sealer after 48 hours.
We're based on Staten Island and serve Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Central & North Jersey, which is anywhere about an hour's drive away. See the full list of service areas.
